Linda Beatty studied Librarianship in the UK before coming to Australia and making the transition from public to special libraries more than 20 years ago. She held library positions with the Adult Migrant Education Centre, the Power and Water Authority and a number of government departments before changing her specialization to records and information management.

Linda has masters degrees in librarianship (Wales) and applied linguistics (NTU) and is currenlty pursuing further studies in education.

Murray Maynard worked as a teacher and teacher-librarian before moving full-time into special librarianship. For ten years from 1990 he was chief librarian with the NT Department of Mines and Energy, with responsibility for geoscience information, the departmental websites and records management services. He now concentrates on web design and publication, standards and contract cataloguing.

Murray has a masters degree in information management (RMIT) and graduate diplomas in librarianship (QUT) and document management (RMIT). He is currently completing post-graduate studies in information technology at NTU.

Linda and Murray enjoy walking holidays in the Lake District of NW England and share an interest in Egyptology.
